Interstate Soccer Club Names Scott Clausen as Director of Coaching
Interstate Soccer Club is proud to announce the hiring of Scott Clausen as the club’s new Director of Coaching. With over two decades of coaching experience at the high school, college, and club levels, Clausen brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion for player development to the role.
Clausen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations with a minor in Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa, where he also began his coaching journey as head coach of the university’s men's club team—leading them to back-to-back league championships in 1996 and 1997.
His high school coaching accomplishments include:

Sioux City East High School (2005–2008) – Boys Varsity Head Coach; led the team to its first-ever state tournament appearance in 2008

Sergeant Bluff-Luton (2009) – Assistant Coach; contributed to the school’s first-ever state qualifier

South Sioux City High School (2019–2021) – Assistant Coach; part of another state-qualifying team

Briar Cliff University (2020–2021) – Volunteer Assistant Coach; helped the men's team reach the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history
Clausen has also made a significant impact on the club scene:

With Tri-State Revolution, his teams earned multiple tournament championships across the Midwest from 2013–2016 and in 2021

As an assistant with Omaha Nitro in 2015, helped lead the 2003 boys to a Nebraska State Championship

With South Sioux Diablos (2017–2022), Clausen coached several teams to state titles and prestigious finishes—including a 3rd place finish at the San Diego Surf Cup

At Interstate Soccer Club, Clausen has already seen success, coaching the U19 girls in 2022 and the 2007 boys in 2023 and 2024 to numerous tournament victories, including qualifying for the Walt Disney World Showcase finals and the Regional President's Cup
In his new role, Clausen will oversee coaching education, training programs, and long-term player development strategies for the club.
